I started out to write a song for my father who was a commercial fisherman and was drowned in the Skeena River while driving home from Prince Rupert, B.C. to visit us between fishing trips. His body and his brother's body were washed down the river to the sea and never found. The song grew from there and became a metaphor for all of our lives and loves - these things of the river that must all one day return to the sea.

The cover photograph is a picture of the Skeena River in northern British Columbia.
